How do we become responsible ? How can we make our community responsible ? How can citizens and leaders alike act responsibly ?
Answers and efforts to be responsible in Nepal in deed.

12 of your inherent rights that come with responsibilities

my-rights-and-my-responsibilities

I believe in:

  1. your right to speak up (silence kills)  along with your responsibility to know when to shut up (words can kill)

  2. your right to own anything  along with  your responsibility to take great care of all that you own.

  3. your right to your privacy along with your responsibility to be accountable to those who live around you

  4. your right to do any work along with your responsibility to bear consequences of your work.

  5. your right to keep what you reap along with your responsibility to share what you reap.

  6. your right to love anyone  along with your responsibility to love anything (environment, society) that protects you.

  7. your right to refuse to help an unjust government along with your responsibility to help install a just ‘servant’ government

  8. your right to bring life (or to die) at your will along with your responsibility to protect lives in peril or in despair

  9. your right to safeguard your life along with your responsibility to safeguard other’s lives .

  10. your right to follow your own thoughts, dreams or religion along with your responsibility to use your thoughts, will, philosophy or religion to unite…

  11. your right to live a life any way you want along with your responsibility to make a dent in the universe before you go away

  12. your right to be any nation’s citizen if you can prove your love for it along with your responsibility to keep on proving that you deserve to remain its citizen.

Every single one of our rights comes balanced with responsibilities! Are you ready to balance them? Are you ready to follow this ‘BibekSheel’ middle path?

Think about this the next time you take a step. Change begins with you.

No representation without our constitution ! Goodbye!

No representation without my constitution

An open letter to 601 ex-lawmakers and your masters who failed Nepal from 30,000,000 Nepali like you and me.”

“You the 601 and the ones who you follow,
From this day, none of you, I repeat none of you, will have my representation, either in this election or ever again.

I am an alert, honest Nepali. Nepal is my country, therefore is my responsibility.  I know what is right and what is wrong.  And you all are so wrong!

You robbed 91,000,000,000, yes 91 billion rupees from nearly 30 million of us, (that is Rs 3,000 from each of us) by taking 4 years to finish a job you promised to complete in 2. In the end you gave us nothing except anguish, anger, hate, disunity and hopelessness ! Are you not ashamed at giving us such a return on our investment !

We sent you to finish making the constitution , not to turn 3 million Nepali sisters and brothers on each other. You have abused us in the name of representation. You have looted from us in the name of constitution. You have raped our trust and looted our dignity. What now remains for us ?

Answer me this. Why should we rehire you when you have proved utterly incompetent to handle? Why should we not ban you from this job forever? Yes.. that’s it. We will ban you from our conscience.

I hereby declare that you do not represent me anymore. I will do what I can, to make sure I don’t need your help anymore. I am not going to bend down to you anymore.
Until you mend your ways, I will not vote for you.

Nepali citizens are waking up as each day passes by. The critical mass of awake Nepali inch closer, uniting against your incompetence, abuse of authority, impunity and gross failures. Should you insist on ruling over us, we will gladly march to prison or the street, because under an unjust rule, the true place for a just Nepali is inside a jail or on the streets.

To see the change in Nepal, I am becoming that change. Today, I am taking that small step! From today, you have none of my representation. Enough is enough!

You are fired! Goodbye!
A Nepali Citizen

(June 16th

We are not failing. We have already failed. Deal with it.

Lets accept this fact for Nepal.

We are not failing. We have already failed. Deal with it.

Nepal is 30th Failed state of the world according to this report here.

So how do we deal with it? And how do we move on?

Here are 3 important life-choices you will have to make to play a role in turning our country around:

Take the political path:  Want to serve your country fore-most? Take the lead and join politics. Politics is an ultimate sacrifice if you want the change you seek in Nepal now.  If your priority is saving your conscience, your family, your town and your country all in one, you will prepare yourself to lead us all out of this mess! No earlier experience required: you learn as you go. Simplify your life. Try to live a life of example. Beware, Politics is like fire. You can either make it a good servant or a bad master, all up to you. Note: Do not make politics a career. Make sure, you have an alternative livelihood which sustains your family.

Take the entrepreneurial path: Don’t shy away from your national duty to offer opportunities in Nepal. Do urge your kids to learn entrepreneurship right from mid-school. Teach them the value of prosperity, and how to create dignified opportunities by becoming an entrepreneur. Tell them how, providing opportunities for others is one of the best social service in a country like ours. Those of us, who are not entrepreneurial, please invest in those who are taking risks! You will never feel sorry.

Take the bureaucratic path: Join Nepal government and serve the people. If the bureaucrats in the government did their job, we wouldn’t need this many social organizations where many of us continue to make a career out of. Joining the bureaucracy is perhaps one of the best ways to do social service in Nepal now. And the surest way to see the change you seek in your environment.

All these paths need persistence, patience and humility. They bring the best in you and help thwart the worst in you to prevail. Continue to hone these qualities much, they will bring you that feeling of contentment one gets as s/he lives a life of purpose.

I hope you will make a clear choice to deal with our nation’s failure now… because if this country burns, we burn with it…
